Welcome to WikiforWriters.com!

Let's get started!

WikiforWriters.com is a free online reference for all things about writing, publishing, agents, editors, the art, the craft, marketing, conferences, websites, people, places - whatever you would like to include.

Several things should differentiate us from Wikipedia

  • Our focus is specific
  • You can edit your own content
  • Therefore our search results should be more useful and targeted (once we have lots of pages!)
  • Besides encyclopedic content, we expect "author", "business card", "topic" and other type pages that tell about you or a topic and then link to websites, blogs or other places of interest. Not so much a myspace.com page, more like a directory listing.

We look like Wikipedia because we are using the same software they use, it is named MediWiki. So we have many of the same features. The wiki concept is that the many knows more than the one. We share our knowledge here for the benefit of others. A collaboration where anyone can create and edit pages. You don't even have to have a login! (At least not for now, we will probably require a login in the future.)
